Every year, the New York Road Runners has their traditional football toss and four mile run through Central Park on Superbowl Sunday. For the first time, I chose to run the Gridiron Classic 4M on the morning of the big game to do my first NYRR race of the year.
When I went to Florida to run the Goofy at the Walt Disney World Marathon, I decided I would go visit family in Fort Lauderdale before trekking up to Orlando to run. Since the two cities are approximately three hours apart, I reached out to my friends at Chevrolet about borrowing a car while I was down there and they lent me a 2013 Camaro SS convertible.
For the past two years, I’ve headed down to Walt Disney World to run during the Marathon Weekend. In 2011, I ran my first half marathon (the Donald) and in 2012, I ran the full marathon around Walt Disney World (the Mickey), but having completed both, there was one other possible goal to achieve during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, and that’s the Goofy – running both the half and full marathons in a single weekend.
