Review: JLab Epic2 Bluetooth Earbuds

I’ve tried a lot of different headphones for running. I’ve tried different earbuds, but I have never run with bluetooth earbuds before trying the JLab Epic2 Bluetooth Wireless Sport Earbuds, which was a new experience for me.

Review: Beautiful LEGO Wild!

LEGO has come a far way from the toys when I was a child. Smaller and more unique pieces have allowed for more intricate designs that come closer to the real world than ever before. While nature makes use of these intricacies, LEGO could not until the introduction of these pieces, which makes the creations in Beautiful LEGO Wild! by Mike Doyle possible.

NYRR Queens 10K 2016

New York Road Runners has two big races every year – the NYC Half Marathon and the NYC Marathon – and the easiest way to enter each is to run a number of qualifying races the prior year to enter each. The NYRR Queens 10K, which has replaced the Queens Half Marathon in recent years, is one of the NYRR’s five borough series and a qualifier for both.

Review: WowWee R.E.V.

I have had the occasion to talk to kids about technology in the recent past, and I like to use different hardware to demonstrate different concepts. Among the technologies I show the children is artificial intelligence, and the best way I have found to demonstrate it is with the Robotic Enhanced Vehicles (R.E.V.) from WowWee toys.

NYRR AirBnB Brooklyn Half Marathon 2016

In my progression towards the 9+1 for the 2017 NYC Marathon, I headed out to Brooklyn, NY for the “largest half marathon” at 27,410 people. Regardless of the enmity everyone seems to have going to the “pre-party” that forced us out to Brooklyn to pick up our bibs, the race itself was something I was looking forward to.

The LEGO Star Wars Friends Project

After completing the LEGO Super Friends Project, I continued the project with Part 2, an exploration into other pop culture figures done in the LEGO Friends style. As I did movie, tv, and video game characters, I kept looking at my favorite movies and thinking I couldn’t just do Luke, Han, or Leia. I would need to do an exploration of the different characters from the classic trilogy. And so, as soon as Part 2 was completed, I began The LEGO Star Wars Friends Project.

Review: Kobo Glo HD E-Reader

I’ve been spending a lot of time reading on my iPad lately. While it’s great between all the potential apps for reading, there are times where it’s just not the best tool for the job. Although I hadn’t touched an e-reader in a while, I was looking forward to trying out the Kobo Glo HD e-reader after seeing it at an event.

NYRR UAE Healthy Kidney 10k 2016

On the road to the 2017 NYC Marathon, I took to the roads of Central Park for the UAE Healthy Kidney 10k. After running three identical four mile races, I was looking forward to running a different course, even if it was longer and ran up Harlem Hill.

NYRR Japan Run 4M 2016

On a rainy Sunday morning, I headed towards Central Park in NYC for my third New York Road Runners race of the year. My third NYRR race and my third four mile race of the year. As race time approached, we hid under the small tents in the Japan expo area, trying to stay dry before the race started. As 8am approached, we headed to our corrals for the Japan Run 4M.

NYRR Run As One 4M 2016

In my quest to get entry to the 2017 NYC Marathon, I ran my second race with New York Road Runners on April 24. Like the Run for the Parks 4M, The Run As One was another four mile loop around Central Park, but this time to raise money and awareness for lung cancer.
