When I started running, my original goal was to run a 5k. After completing it, my goals escalated. Run a half marathon. Run a marathon. And once I was running marathons, I wanted to run different courses, and I began to start on the marathon majors. The biggest marathon (not by number of runners) – and hardest to get into – is the Boston Marathon. On April 17, I set out to run through Massachusetts on my fifth marathon major.
With a week to go before the Boston Marathon, the last “long” run for my taper was set to be six miles. The same weekend, New York Road Runners had their annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10k, which I decided would be the perfect way to get in that last six mile run – plus an extra .2 miles – in preparation for the marathon.
About a month ago, I ran the Tokyo Marathon, and I am weeks away from the Boston Marathon, but I need to start looking to my future races. Now that it is warming up, I wanted to start doing my 9+1 for the 2018 NYC Marathon, so I ran the Run to Breathe 4M.
Everything on the internet these days is about “the cloud.” From hosting servers to files, everything is put up in the cloud, but ultimately it just means you are putting your contents on someone else’s computer somewhere. There are so many services online to host and share files, all of which give basic service for free then charge a monthly fee to get more space. Instead of being chained to a monthly fee with iCloud, Dropbox, Box, etc., there is a simple option to set up your own with the Lima Ultra.
After running the New York Marathon a couple times, I wanted a bigger goal and set my sights on the six Marathon Majors. I started on the road to completing them by running the Chicago Marathon then the Berlin Marathon a year later. Now it is over two years later and I set my sneakers to the pavement in Tokyo.
