In the two weeks since Netflix has come to the Android, the biggest complaint about it is that it has only been on a small number of devices. The programmers have been hard at work and continue to bring it to new devices.
Starting with 5 devices, the number of devices has expanded. It now works on:
– HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
– HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
– HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2
– HTC G2 with Android 2.2
– Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3
– Motorola Droid
– LG Revolution
Although the list remains small, it is interesting to see how they are rolling out. The original Motorola Droid now supports Netflix, and I tested it to find it working with no problems on my Droid running 2.2 with a couple different movies. With the similarity between Motorola Droid devices, it is interesting that the Droid 2 and Droid X, with its larger screen, are not supported yet.
The devotion to get it onto more devices is admirable, but it is most notable that none of the Android tablets, like the Motorola Xoom, Barnes and Nobles Nook, and Samsung Galaxy tablets are not supported yet. Having Netflix on the Droid, iPhone and iPad, the viewing experience is undoubtedly most preferential on the iPad, even if the mobile app has a clunky interface.
