I normally write in this blog twice a week, but unfortunately, my entire week has been consumed with finding out where my car is, to no avail. Since I put out the previous post earlier this week, everyone who has seen me has asked if there were any updates, so I figured the best thing to do would be a quick write up about the current situation.
The car has been missing since Saturday night and the police were called Sunday. My insurance company was called Monday and their process began. I got the case number from the police and began talking to my insurance agent about a rental car for the interim. I called the impound lots every couple days, but none of them have any record of the location of my car. After almost a week, it’s becoming disheartening.
At this point, I’m trying to figure out all the things that were in my car and my laptop bag, and how much of it I will have to replace in addition to the car itself. My laptop, my iPad, my gym bag and other assorted odds, ends and digital devices that were in my trunk at the time.
So now it’s Friday, I’ve picked up a rental car and I am trying to figure out what the next steps are and what kind of car to get. I’m sure I’ll get all sorted in the next week or two as the time passes and the frustration passes, but until then, I just keep going.
And thank you to everyone who offerred to help and said I could have called for a place to stay/assistance that night. I appreciate it greatly (even those who were out of the city or had fallen asleep before receiving any texts) and it means a lot to me, but I just got to a point where I wanted to be alone and be in my own bed for a while.
