As stated in my first and second blogiversary posts, the most popular post on my blog has been Video, Movie and TV Apps on the Droid, a collection of applications to watch assorted tv shows and movies on the Android based phones. It was a request from the comments of one of my other posts because VCast wasn’t available for the Droid at that time, but that has since changed. After a year and a half, it’s time to update the list.
The latest Motorola Droid to join the Android lineup is the Droid Pro. The Blackberry like design with the physical keyboard mixed with the multi-touch 3.1″ screen like the other Droid phones have. And just like the other Droid phones, the Droid Pro needs apps to truly expand the uses of the phone. These are some of the most useful apps to be used with the new phone.
When traveling with your Droid, Droid 2 or Droid X, sometimes it’s good to have something to read with you. When are in a position where you can’t actually carry a book, it’s good to have an app that will let you keep up with your reading without the bound paper in your hand.
Growing up, there were a few cartoons that were brought over from Japan and rebranded for American kids. We ate up Starblazers, Battle of the Planets and Voltron, unaware of its true origins overseas. With time, Japanese animation grew into its own and Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and their ilk grabbed the hearts and minds of a new generation of children, as well as their older counterparts who watched more adult oriented anime. Now, watching them isn’t limited just to the television, but to the Droid, Droid 2 and Droid X as well.
A friend of mine recently said the most common type of startup that people come up with is dating related. Since there is such a popularity for dating websites right now, why wouldn’t it carry over to the Android phones as well? That’s why I looked into dating apps for the Droid, Droid 2 and Droid X.
The successor to the Motorola Droid has been released with the Motorola Droid 2 and with it, the need to install new apps on a new phone. These are the apps I find the most useful for the Droid and in turn the most useful for the new Droid 2.
Bittorrent is considered by many to be the best way for downloading large files to the pc and mac because it breaks it up into smaller pieces, which are then shared amongst seeders (people who have the whole file) and leechers (people who are downloading) who upload the pieces they have to other users while downloading from other users in the swarm the pieces they need until they have the whole thing. Bittorrent isn’t just limited to the desktop or can be crontrolled remotely via the Android.
With all the social media integration of smart phones, it’s important to have proper access to your social networks. Since the two most popular social networks are Facebook and Twitter, it’s important to have the proper apps to access both. The only app for Facebook is the mediocre Facebook app, but there are a myriad of choices to access Twitter with.
With the introduction of the new Droid X this week, I thought it was time to revisit all the apps that have been reviewed on JustJon.Net so far and see what apps were must have for the new phone. These are the apps that I find to be the most used, must have apps to use for the Droid that should be as necessary to the Droid X.
